If you are like me you have probably been doing research, trying to get the best shed for the lowest price. You probably seen metal and wood kits you can assemble, and plans to build your own online. If you have seen the wood shed displays at home improvement stores, and noticed the simple structure, you have probably said to yourself, I can build one myself. Well you are right, you can build one yourself, it is simple.

If you are looking to save money, and have a well built shed, that well last many years, the best solution is building it yourself. Even if you have never built one before, I’m sure you can do it.

The first step to doing it yourself will be to get some plans. Once you have your plans and have checked with your building department for any requirements, you are ready to start building.

Find a good location , and be aware of any underground pipes or electrical wires. If you build on top and some day they might need repair, it will be difficult to get to. Also check for any puddles, you might have to raise the ground, or add gravel. By doing this you will be protecting the foundation from any decay or rot.

Once you have checked with your building department, and found a good location, you are ready to start building. Study your plans, and go over your material list. Take your time to measure and cut the parts. Next start assembling, in no time your project well be completed, good luck.
